Corporate event and brand experience DJ

Galas, hospitality dinners, openings, product launches and after-parties. Music calibrated to the brand's tone, not to the DJ's taste.

At a corporate event, music is part of the message

A wedding has one obvious goal: get people dancing. A corporate event has several at once. It has to keep guests talking during the welcome, hold silence during the stage programme, bring the room back to life immediately afterwards, and close with an after-party people talk about the next day.

With more than twenty years behind the decks I have always worked in front of very different crowds and in high-volume rooms: alongside private events, since 2017 I play every weekend at El PavoReal in Florence, on the Saturday for the over-30 crowd and the Friday for a younger audience. A corporate evening calls for exactly that attention — understanding who is actually in the room, from colleagues and executives to clients and international guests, and walking them from the formal part through to the freer moments without forcing anything, while respecting the organisers’ timings.

I have worked on events for Cartier, Porsche, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana and Mercedes-Benz, and I have played after live shows by Sting, Brian May, Queen + Adam Lambert, Andrea Bocelli and Ricchi e Poveri. In all of those rooms the brief was the same: absolute technical reliability and zero grandstanding.

Formats I work on

  • Galas and hospitality dinners: carefully curated background, volumes that allow conversation, a gradual move into the dancing part.
  • Boutique and showroom openings: a selection coherent with the brand's identity, managing arrival flow, continuous sets over several hours.
  • Product launches: musical stings synchronised with the programme, coordinated with video direction and room audio.
  • After-parties and closing parties: the moment where twenty years of clubs actually matter.
  • Conventions and incentives: music across several days and several spaces, with a different tone in each room.

Repertoire

The repertoire runs from the timeless seventies, eighties and nineties through to recent hits, with a selection built around the crowd actually in the room: age, nationality, the tone of the company. What matters on an evening like this is changing pace at the right moment and keeping the energy up without ever losing elegance or control.

Every engagement gets its own quote, accounting for duration, the number of spaces to cover, technical equipment, production coordination and travel — in a format that fits corporate procurement.

For corporate clients

Four things a corporate client wants to know

I work inside the production

I join production calls, use the agency's run-down, return the completed technical sheet on schedule and coordinate with video direction, sound crew and light designer. Nothing is left to the night itself.

Contractual confidentiality

I publish nothing in which guests or event details are recognisable. I sign NDAs without discussion: for many of my clients it is an entry requirement.

Bilingual service

I work in Italian and English with agencies, international teams and multinational audiences — including on music choices: what works in Milan does not always work in a room of international guests.

Guaranteed continuity

Backups for every critical component and a replacement clause with colleagues at an equivalent level, music brief included. The operational risk stays with me, not with you.

Technical

The work nobody should notice

A successful corporate event is one where nobody thinks about the audio. No feedback, no volume jumps, no track covering a speech, no awkward silence between programme moments.

Getting there is front-loaded work: site visit or technical sheet for the room, a sound check with the speakers, a minute-by-minute map of the programme and a plan B for every pressure point.

FAQ

Corporate events: recurring questions

How far in advance should I book?
For a wedding between May and September, 10-14 months ahead is the sensible window. Saturdays in June and September in Tuscany are the first dates to go. For corporate events and private parties the average lead time is 2-4 months, though dates do get confirmed two weeks out — it is always worth asking.
Are sound and lighting included in the DJ fee?
No — they are a separate line in the quote, and there is a reason. Every venue has different needs, and bundling a standard system would either make you pay for more than you need or bring you less than you need. I can however provide everything, from the ceremony to the party, through the sound and lighting company I have worked with for years and of which I am a founding partner: professional speakers, mixers and microphones sized for the spaces and the guest count, with backups on every critical component, so music and speeches are never interrupted. The lighting design we develop together — ambient light for dinner and dance-floor effects, matched to the mood of each moment — or I coordinate with the light designer already appointed by you, the planner or the venue. Either way you receive a single all-inclusive quote and deal with one point of contact.
Do you speak English? Can you handle international guests?
Yes. Most of my events involve international couples and guests, and I work in Italian and English with couples, planners, venues and production teams. A room with several nationalities also needs different musical choices: repertoire everyone recognises at the key moments, and awareness of references that only land in one country.
Are you willing to sign an NDA?
Yes, without discussion. Many of the events I work on involve confidentiality agreements required by the client, the planner or the brand. If your event needs an NDA, send it with your availability enquiry and I will sign it before the contract.
What happens if you fall ill or something goes wrong?
The contract includes a guaranteed replacement: a network of colleagues at an equivalent level whom I have worked with for years and to whom, in an emergency, I transfer your event's complete music brief — preferences, do-not-play list, programme timings. On the technical side I travel with spare equipment for the more delicate parts of the audio chain, so a hitch is resolved in moments without the evening stopping.
How does SIAE work? Do I have to deal with it?
In Italy a SIAE permit is compulsory whenever music is played at a party, and venues always insist that it is in order: without it, both you and the venue risk a fine. The obligation falls on whoever organises the event, not on the DJ. You can apply in person at the relevant SIAE office; if you would rather not deal with it, I can obtain the permit on your behalf with a written authorisation from you. Many Tuscan venues handle it internally: it is one of the first things I check.
What genres do you play?
I come from twenty years in clubs, so electronic and house music is my natural ground — but a wedding needs far more: soul, funk and disco, Italian and international pop, latin, hip hop, the great classics. The repertoire runs from the timeless seventies, eighties and nineties through to current hits, because a wedding room holds three generations and each one has to find its own track. The point is never the genre: it is choosing the right one at the right moment for that particular group of people.
Are you insured? Do you hold the required certifications?
Yes. I work with full public liability insurance covering damage to people and property during the service, and with the certifications required to operate inside venues and at corporate events. Villas, hotels and procurement departments often request these documents before approving a supplier: I attach them at quotation stage, without you having to chase them. It is the simplest way to guarantee a safe, legal and thoroughly professional event.
Are you a registered professional? Do you invoice?
Yes. I am a registered professional with a VAT number, and every engagement is covered by a written contract and an invoice. I am also a founding partner of a company that supplies DJs, musicians and artists and operates as a professional sound and lighting service, with extensive experience in the wedding industry. For your event that means one contractual counterpart for the entire musical and technical side.
